Location
Hong Kong is made up of over 200 islands only a handful inhabited. The three main islands of Hong Kong are Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, and the New Territories. Hong Kong is located in the South China sea at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta. The body of water separating Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula is the Victoria Harbour, one of the deepest natural costal ports in the world. Strategically positioned between the Taiwan Straits, the South China Sea, and the Pacific Ocean it brings in a lot of international trade. Most of the population of Hong Kong is accommodated in the main urban area along the waterfront of the Victoria Harbour on Hong Kong Island. The landscape is mountainous that lowers in the northern part of Hong Kong. Hong Kong's climate is subtropical and monsoonal with cool dry winters and hot wet summers.
